about

This is another 'warehoused' project, delayed for seventeen years. It is not A Cloakroom Assembly. It has more population than territory. Beat poems and appropriated sounds, recorded in 2000-2001, way before Bandcamp, My Space etc. With a slight nod to 'Oar' and 'Madcap Laughs'. Every project I do, I like to work within limitations. This time I was limited to using 'found sounds' and 'in your ear vocals' and quotation marks. Recorded late at night when I was supposed to be doing my PhD and trying not to wake up my two children. Hence the introverted vocals. I think I knew what was about to happen and I had an intuative great sadness, watching a beautiful woman and soul mate fight for her life and dignity. In a parallel universe this might be one of my major works ... maybe ? ... BTW "'Retreated' (Retreat 2.22) comes from "Retreat Music 1-29", aka my viking/celtic DNA death song.

Michael Tee/Coffey no-longer hides behind the ACRA moniker. So this Bandcamp site is now an outlet for Tee stuff, Ya Ya Choral, Frosty, Tee/Marshall, Space Therapy Robinson et.al. Michael Tee/Coffey co-founded the post punk msquared label in 1979 and was a founding member of 'legendary' noisemakers Scattered Order, A Cloakroom Assembly (ACRA) and the much misunderstood Ya Ya Choral/s (YYC). ... more
