about

This was one of Patrick's contributions to counter-balance the disco pop of 'Waiting Time' on our debut "Such a Dutchman' EP. We all thought this was a great lyric capturing our amusement of evangelical pomp and pantomime, whilst missing the point of it all. I think it has conceptual roots in the 'Brother Lee Love' skit by the UK comedian Kenny Everret in the mid 1970s. Patrick's recruitment of the 'choir' comprised of members of Wild West/Voight 465/N-Lets/Pel Mel etc was genius. Often they would all join us for gigs. Maybe we should have rehearsed though!
